WSOP bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche holds the chip lead going into the final day of the GUKPT Edinburgh main event but Scotland’s Ross Loggie, who has been among the chip leaders since the opening flight on Thursday, and Grosvenor-sponsored pro Jeff Kimber are among those ready to take those chips away.<\/p>\n
The unfortunate bubble boy yesterday was the player who came into day two second in chips, David Vamplew, his second top set running into the top set of Tao Heying.<\/p>\n
With everyone then in the money it felt like a bubble as there were 20 players for around an hour, before one by one the field was whittled down to the final 11 who return today.<\/p>\n

Start of Day Two
\nTwo of Scotland\u2019s most prominent poker players, Ross Loggie and David Vamplew, lead the way going into day two of the \u00a3550 GUKPT Edinburgh main event between 3-6 April 2014.<\/p>\n
Eighty-one players headed to the Grosvenor Maybury casino on Thursday’s day 1A aiming to turn \u00a3550 into a much more meaningful amount, with 10 of those hopefuls busting out and taking advantage of the re-entry format to swell the total number of entries to 91. On Friday another 101 entries for day 1B meant \u00a34,000 being added to the pool to make the \u00a3100,000 guarantee.<\/p>\n
Only 28 players managed to progress to day two from the opening flight, with a further 34 joining them from the second flight, making a total of 62 returning for day two.<\/p>\n
Among those coming back are some of the United Kingdom\u2019s best poker talent, but the name at the top of the list is that of Loggie thanks to his bagging 146,600 chips at the close of play on Thursday. Hot on his heels is fellow Edinburghian Vamplew, a former European Poker Tour London main event winner with 141,300 chips.<\/p>\n
Other notables who navigated their way through the opening flights include Grosvenor-sponsored pro Jeff Kimber who led Friday’s qualifiers with 124,000 ahead of Graham Pilkington on 117100, Genting Poker Series Sheffield champion Makka Hussain (113,100), Joe Beevers (53,600), World Series of Poker bracelet winner and World Poker Tour champion Dominik Nitsche (46,900) and Karl Mahrenholz (26,700).<\/p>\n
