{"id":2299,"date":"2014-06-02T23:43:36","date_gmt":"2014-06-02T23:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.puffapoker.com\/?p=2299"},"modified":"2014-08-16T23:48:22","modified_gmt":"2014-08-16T23:48:22","slug":"winsor-the-champion-at-walsall-main-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.puffapoker.com\/?p=2299","title":{"rendered":"Winsor champion at GUKPT Walsall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ben Winsor finally took home a trophy after winning the GUKPT Walsall main event from 25 May-1 June 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Winsor, who finished fifth in the Genting Poker Series Southend main event in April and fourth in the GUKPT Brighton main event, also collected a cheque for \u00a324,500 after a two-way chop with Simon Deadman.<\/p>\n<p>Only 12 players returned for the final day with Andrew Probyn, George Lakin and Ian Bradley missing out on the final table.<\/p>\n<p>Deadman took 570,000 chips to the final table, while Winsor was the huge chip leader on 1,032,000. But by the time they reached heads-up play it was Deadman who held a 2.7m to 1.1m chip lead.<\/p>\n<p>But it didn&#8217;t stay that way for long with Winsor doubling up when Deadman found himself with AS-6D on a AH-KC-8D-6C-5S board to his AD-8C.
