Day 2 Cardiff<\/p>\n

Robert Cowen is the chip leader going into Day 2 of the third leg of the Welsh Poker Series at the G Casino in Cardiff today.<\/p>\n

Cowan brings 197,200 chips to the tables from Day 1A in Swansea, with fellow Swansea qualifier Josh Veasey on 164,100 and Robert Quinn in third place after building a stack of 161,900 on Day 1B in Cardiff. <\/p>\n

Genting Poker Series high-roller finalist Rana Gurnam finished with 52,200 yesterday, with WPS leg one winner Mal Linton on 84,000 and leg two champion Liam Oliver on 61,100. <\/p>\n

The short stack is Darren Davies, who survived the night in Swansea with just 200 chips, but nobody’s taking bets on whether his seat will be occupied in Cardiff today.<\/p>\n

There’s only one James Lewis… but which one will be decided today when two return to Cardiff. There’s also only one Anthony Jones… but which one will also be determined by who lasts longest from the two coming back.<\/p>\n

Day 1B Cardiff<\/p>\n

It was a cagey affair in Cardiff as 45 survived Day 1B to join the 15 qualifiers from Day 1A in Swansea for the final instalment of leg three of the Welsh Poker Series at the G Casino in Cardiff.<\/p>\n

Robert Quinn led the way on 161,900 chips, with Andrew Mitchell second on 144,200 and David Burke third with 132,000.<\/p>\n

Leg one winner Mal Linton is in good shape on 84,000, with leg two winner Liam Oliver on 61,100 and Genting Poker Series high-roller finalist Rana Gurnam on 52,200. <\/p>\n

James Lacey on 16,500 is the shortest of the stacks to make it through from Cardiff.<\/p>\n

Day 1A Swansea<\/p>\n

Robert Cowen was the chip leader after Day 1A of the Welsh Poker Series at the Grosvenor Casino in Swansea.<\/p>\n

Cowen amassed a stack of 197,200 as the opening flight brought in 61 entries, including nine rebuys.<\/p>\n

Josh Veasey was second in chips, accumulating a stack of 164,100 to take back to the G Casino in Cardiff tomorrow for Day 2.<\/p>\n

Trevor Bowen finished the day with the third-highest stack on 144,100 but the big question on everyone’s lips in Cardiff last night was whether Darren Davies would claim his seat tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Davies survived the night in Swansea with just 200 chips in his stack as 15 made it through to Day 2.<\/p>\n

Day 1B of the \u00a315,000 guarantedd \u00a3100+\u00a310 event shuffles up at 4pm today at the G Casino in Cardiff, with Day 2 starting at the same time and venue tomorrow.<\/p>\n
