Two more 25\/25 Series champions have been crowned, with Dan Clark outlasting 195 runners in Cardiff from 12-15 February and Ravi Sharda the last man standing in Reading from 19-22 February.<\/p>\n
Clark took the honours in the first 25\/25 event staged in Wales, topping an impressive field at the G Casino in Cardiff after a three-way deal with Stephen Kavanagh and Tony Martin, which saw Clark pocket a first prize of \u00a39,500. Runner-up Kavanagh and third-placed Martin both took home \u00a37,345.<\/p>\n
The field was anything but a walk in the park for Clark though with previous GUKPT champions, 25\/25 Series champions, Welsh Poker Series winners, a Shark Cage contestant, and pro poker coaches among the runners.<\/p>\n
Rob Thomas finished fourth for \u00a33,270, then came the girls… Huan Wang finishing fifth for \u00a32,270, Sophie Rigali sixth for \u00a31,630 and Diane Evans seventh for \u00a31,290.<\/p>\n
Last year’s Cardiff GUKPT main event winner Vaidas Siriunas finished eighth for \u00a31,090, with John Challingsworth the first to depart the final table for \u00a3980.<\/p>\n
The Reading event attracted 225 runners to create a prize pool of \u00a345,000, almost double the guarantee, and after a hard-fought finale Sharda pocketed \u00a313,140 after beating Simon McGechie heads-up.<\/p>\n
Special mention goes to Rigali, who added \u00a31,440 for seventh place in Reading to the \u00a31,630 she won for sixth in Cardiff.<\/p>\n
