Winsor leads the way in Southend

Day two at the Genting Poker Series in Southend on Saturday, 12 April 2014, started with 81 players, with Wenbin Chen the chip leader but he was one of the 72 players not to make it through to day three, going out on the bubble in 29th place.

In a three-way all-in Chen held Q-10 against the A-K of Geoff Dartford and pocket sevens of Leon Campbell. The sevens held which meant Dartford cashed for £940 in 28th place. Campbell used his chips wisely though and is one of nine players returning today with a chance of taking home the £33,730 top prize. He brings back 1,041,000 million chips.

But the chip leader is Ben Winsor on 1,761,000 after being responsible for making Reza Fezali the second bubbler of the day. Fezali missed out on the final table after moving all-in for his last 70,000 after an open from Winsor, who made the call with A-9 against Fezali's Q-9.

The board ran out 6-2-9-2-J to pair them both on the flop but it offered no further help for Fezali and gave Winsor a large chip lead going into today's final day with a stack of 1,761,000.

Last year's winner Danny Tran and runner-up Josh Venman have made back-to-back finals and are on 380,000 and 663,000 respectively, while the other protagonists are Martin Hogarty, Rob McAdam, Dean Clay, Briony Stone and James Burke.
