Liam Batey won the 8-Max event at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham from 24-27 April 2014.
A total of 133 players bought into the £250 buy-in event, leaving the DTD management nursing a near £7,000 overlay on their £40,000 guarantee.
In the heads-up battle Batey brushed aside the legendary Willie Tann, leaving the veteran with a cheque for £5,000, while Batey collected £8,250 – the third largest live tournament cash of the Leeds United fan’s career.
Sean Belton beat Guy Taylor heads-up a fortnight earlier to also collect a cheque for £8,250 in the 8-Max held between 11-13 April. Taylor pocketing £5,000.
