Yong on song at the Hippodrome

The PokerStars UKIPT Series returned to the Hippodrome Casino in London from 26-29 March, with Malaysian Chris Yong the dominant force with his hyper-aggressive style of play responsible for a string of eliminations and him winning the trophy and £10,986.

A total of 160 players created a prize pool just short of £39,000 with Yong taking the biggest chunk after topping a final table that featured players from five different countries.

After Richard Paul departed in third, Yong and Joseph Pateman agreed a chop, leaving £1,800 and the trophy on top. With a two-to-one chip advantage, Yong was always favourite to go on and seal the deal, which he did when his pocket kings prevailed against Pateman's pocket 10s.

The Hippodrome is a happy hunting ground for Yong who finished fifth at UKIPT London earlier in the year.
