The winner of the Southampton 25/25 Series event at the Grosvenor Casino from 17-19 January was Stephen Bean.

Bean got the better of a mammoth heads-up battle with Sanad Fellah, which lasted more than an hour, when his pair of queens held up after his opponent had shoved all-in for 1.8m chips with A-5 suited.

A board of 10-7-8-Q-2 saw no help for Fellah so Bean collected £9,940 for his efforts, with the runners-up spot paying £8,500.
