The winner of the Birmingham leg of the 25/25 Series from 17-19 January 2014 was Tai Hoang, who turned his buy-in of just £200 into £14,000 after beating David Halliday heads-up.

A field of 318 entries at the city’s G Casino created a prize pool of £63,600 with Hoang taking the biggest chunk of it after three highly competitive days of action.

In the heads-up battle with Halliday, Hoang sealed the win after turning a five-high straight to beat his opponent’s jack-high bluff.

Halliday’s reward for second place was £11,777, with Mahmoud Abdelkader earning £10,000 for third.
