Attila Fekete earned his biggest live cash after beating “November niner” Antoine Saout heads-up to win the 888 Live Main Event at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford. Hungarian Fekete bagged £27,000 for his two-day effort.

Ireland’s Andy Black padded his bankroll to the tune of €18,150 after winning the opening tournament of D4 Events’ Irish Poker Series at the Bonnington Hotel. Many of Ireland’s elite players turned out in force to support the festival from 13-23 February, with Black taking down a field of 616 players after a three-way deal. With a €123,200 prize pool, the top 79 finishers all grabbed a share of the loot.

The European Deepstack Main Event at the Bonnington had a popular champion when Richard O’Neill outlasted 415 opponents to get his hands on €32,450 after a four-handed deal. The result was €100 short of equalling O’Neill’s largest live poker tournament prize. The exit of India’s Ankit Ahuja in fifth place saw the final four players strike a deal for the remaining prize pool, with Mark Flanagan and Mark O’Hare collecting €20,070 respectively. Patrick Eagers busted in second-place for €27,170 and O’Neill was the last man standing, a result worth €32,450.

Unibet Open Dublin, 27 February-1 March

Martin Olali took down the Unibet Open Dublin main event after a tumultuous four-hour heads-up battle against Dutch qualifier Steven Vollers. Olali, who was short-stacked for much of the final table and down 8:1 at one point, celebratED his biggest ever live cash and first-ever score on the Unibet tour. The first stop of 2020, the Unibet Open Dublin festival opened on 26 February at the Bonnington Hotel and featured more than 20 tournaments. The €1,100 main event attracted 294 entries creating a total prize pool of €294,000. More than 100 players qualified online through Unibet Poker. Olali’s €64,110 victory takes him just over the $300k mark in live tournament cashes. Vollers, who had a deep run at Unibet Open Sinaia last year and also finished sixth in the Unibet Battle of the Champions, took €40,020 for his runner-up finish.

Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, Manchester, 27 February-1 March
£1,000+110 No-Limit Hold’em GUKPT Main Event
Ben Dobson took down the second leg of the GUKPT at the Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road, beating Ben Winsor heads up. Dobson went into heads-up play with a 5.1 million to 1.2 million chip advantage but after a Winsor double-up the players decided on a chop that secured Dobson £72,000 to Winsor’s £68,000, with £3,510 left to play for. The final hand saw Winsor all-in for two million in the 120k big blind with AH5S  and Dobson call with 2D2C. The  1oD 7S 4D 2S 8D board meant Dobson took the title with a set of deuces
