Wong on right side of Mint deal

With 52 players returning for day two of leg 15 of the Super Stack Series at London's Cromwell Mint casino from 30 May-1 June it was Ion Tronaru in pole position to claim the biggest share of the £24,900 prize fund.

Tronaru, the winner of leg 11 from 25-27 April, was on 344,700 chips, 25k ahead of his closest rival Philip Marsh (319,800), with Andy Kitchlew almost 100k adrift of Tronaru on 251,000 when they returned.

And it was almost back-to-back wins at the Mint for Tronaru but, after a three-way deal with Dave Zemon and Ken Wong (pictured above) that saw them each taking home £3,200, it was Tronaru who departed in third place, with Wong collecting a further £850 for the win. Zermon, who had started the day more than 100k behind Kitchlew, also took home £3,200.

Stuart Guthrie finished fourth for £2,700, with Richard Stanley, James Monder, Martynas Valkunas, Ayshe Hakki and Justin Kyriakides each taking home £1,800.

More than a month earlier Tronaru (pictured below) had the honour of receiving the trophy after pocketing £4,205 from leg 11, with Oscar Kirby taking home £3,220 and Tom Wallsgrove £3,210.

Leg 13 from 9-11 May in Dublin went to Gary Stokes, who bagged €4,700, with Dave Kinlan second for €3,100 and Brian Kiely taking home €2,450 for third.
