Katsarov the whiskers at London MPN

Bulgaria's Antoan Katsarov won the inaugural €550 MPNPT main event from 29 May-1 June 2014.

Katsarov joined the final table as one of the short stacks but navigated the dangerous waters at Aspers Casino in London magnificently to take down the first ever event of the MPN Poker Tour.

The Bulgarian started the final table with the second shortest stack but an early double up with AJ over pocket nines put him back in the hunt and he took control soon after, tripling up with pocket aces then extending his lead still further with quad jacks.

After eliminating Scott Syer in fourth with AK over A10, Katsarov piled on the pressure and the words all-in became wearily familiar to opponents Antonio German and Ben Passantino.

Katsarov came from behind with 10-7 to eliminate Passantino, holding A6, to take the tournament heads-up and it took just one hand for him to seal the title.

With an 8-1 chip deficit to overcome, German immediately moved all in with 10-4 and found himself dominated by Katsarov's A-10, which held to give him the maiden MPNPT title and a first prize of £9,500.

The MPNPT heads to Malta for its next stop. Qualifiers for the festival, which takes place from 11-14 are running at MPN sites, including Bet Victor and Betsafe.
