Oliver takes Welsh Poker Series trophy

After a three-way deal which saw Liam Oliver, Ceri Rees and Jonathan O'Brien bagging £4,400 from the second leg of the Welsh Poker Series at the Grosvenor Casino in Swansea on 1 June 2014, it was Oliver who took the trophy and £180 on top for first place.

Oliver, who had qualified on Day 1A in Cardiff on 30 May, took 102,400 chips to Swansea for day two, with O'Brien starting on 44,800 after also making it through Day 1A, while Rees had earned his place on Day 1B in Swansea.

David Haycock picked up a cheque for £1,820 for fourth place, Aaaron Bowen £1,210 for fifth and John Hanlon £890 for sixth.

Long-time chip leader Warren Jones was unlucky to finish in seventh place, with Ouday Hikary in eighth and Warren's brother Gavin in ninth, winning the last-longest GUKPT seat after qualifying for Day 1A through a Cardiff satellite.
